  • Feedback, Concerns, Complaints

We are committed to continually improving all aspects of our work, whether in response to a concern or inspired by a new idea or opportunity.

    Feedback

We regularly gather pupil voice to understand how we can improve the offer for our children.  We use surveys to gain an understanding of elements of school life such as the choice of clubs they would like, which interhouse competitions they would prefer, which play equipment is better, school events, educational visits, school meal choice, and most recently, the reasons some children don’t attend clubs.  We do this in order that we can improve our offer.

We regularly talk to children about their learning to help Subject Leaders and Senior Leaders understand how effectively different subjects and year groups are being taught. We also ask about their wider school experiences, including educational visits, clubs and sporting fixtures, to help us continue improving all aspects of school life.

Parents receive survey opportunities.  We have recently surveyed our new families about their experience joining our school.  In the last 12 months we have also surveyed parents about parents evenings and reporting to better understand how we can improve this element of our provision.

Parents are also encouraged to complete the school survey here on Parent View.

Our parent survey is designed to help us understand how well we are doing. It is not a way to raise a complaint; if you have a concern, please follow our Complaints Policy below. You will need to register for an account before accessing the survey.

Staff complete an annual survey, and we encourage everyone to share ideas and raise concerns openly. This culture of honest feedback helps us continually improve.

We are always pleased to receive emails from parents and carers, whether they contain suggestions or positive feedback. We share compliments with our staff, who greatly appreciate your kind words.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our surveys and provide feedback – it really does make a difference.

    Concerns

We are committed to resolving concerns quickly and fairly. In most cases, the best place to start is by speaking to your child's class teacher, as many issues can be resolved informally.

If you remain unhappy, please make an appointment with the Headteacher, who will investigate the matter and respond. If, after following the school's complaints procedure, you are still dissatisfied, you may contact the Chair of Governors via the School Office.

Before making a formal complaint, please read our Complaints Policy and Complaints Procedure, available on the Policies page under the Parents section of this website or from the School Office.

    • A concern may be defined as: an expression of worry or doubt over an issue considered to be important for which reassurances are sought.
    • A complaint may be defined as: an expression of dissatisfaction about actions taken or a lack of action after following the correct resolution procedures in the policy.

Our complaints procedure is open to parents, carers and members of the public regarding the facilities or services we provide, except where separate statutory procedures apply (such as admissions, exclusions or staff grievances).

We encourage concerns to be raised as early as possible so they can be resolved promptly and positively.
