Music

Music is taught as a practical subject in which all children participate. They are given opportunities to develop their skills in singing, listening, playing and composing music. In addition music productions are organised across the whole school and these take a variety of formats. Pupils have the opportunity to learn how to play musical instruments such as recorders, trumpets and keyboards. These lessons are taken by music teachers from Somerset Music Service. There is a charge for these lessons. Children also have a chance to learn an instrument as part of the Somerset initiative – Wider Opportunities Music.  This involves the children learning instruments, such as the recorder or trumpet, in whole class lessons.
