Geography

We aim, through our teaching of geography to enable children to make sense of their surroundings and the wider world. In order to do this, geography work begins by building on pupils’ previous experience and understanding of their own location within the U.K.  We encourage children to develop geographical skills, knowledge and understanding through an enquiry approach. Children are given opportunities to observe, question and communicate ideas and information about places, processes and environmental change. We want children to develop a sense of identity within the U.K. and understand its relationship with other countries.
