History

The children are offered opportunities to investigate and interpret a wide range of evidence to develop historical understanding and specific skills.  This is done through role-play, drama, looking at artefacts and documents, visiting places of interest and through research.  Each year the children will study up to two historical periods taken from the National Curriculum. Each topic will focus on a different aspect of historical skills and themes. During their time at Huish Episcopi Primary School, children will also study the history of the local area – the Battle of Sedgemoor and the Somerset Levels.
