Spring Term 2010 at HEPs
A New Year and a new term with lots to look forward to! I will outline some of the highlights.
The whole school will be starting to work on the SEAL theme 'Going for Goals'. This is a great opportunity to determine which goals each of child will aim for in the term and year ahead and on their ability to develop the necessary qualities and attitudes to achieve those aims. We want every HEPs child to be determined, ambitious and positive about themselves!
There will be several class assemblies that parents can attend. Aller class will be doing their class assembly on February 5th, Isle will be performing on March 5th and Sedgemoor on 19th March.
In March we will be holding a Healthy Living week and lots of exciting activities are already planned. We hope that the new community class will be ready so that there can be lots of healthy cooking taking place.
There are also a number of visitors booked to come into school. March 18th should be a very exciting day as 'Birds of Prey' will be in school and each class will have a workshop. In addition a visitor will be in to talk to the children about different environmental topics on January.27th. Finally we are planning to set up a french cafe on March 8th and invite guests in to sample some french 'goodies' whilst our apprentice waiters and waitresses practise their french.
Our annual maths challenge will start towards the end of January and will involve the whole school.
Sedgemoor and Isle class are involved in an exciting dance project called Step Change. They will be working with a professional dance teacher on Mondays. As usual there will be an interesting selection of after school clubs...details are on their way.
Teachers will send out a curriculum letter very soon detailing the areas of study and topics for the forthcoming term. Newsletters will continue to be sent out on s fortnightly basis so that you can keep up to date with all the developments.
