Sedgemoor class

Welcome to Sedgemoor Class!

Our class consists of year 3 and year 4 children. Our class teachers are Mrs Boulton and Mrs Simmonds, and our Higher Learning Teaching Assistant is Mrs Mrs Ramwell.

In Sedgemoor class we came up with 5 rules in order for us to learn best;
We are considerate.

We show good listening behaviour.

We look after property.

We walk around the school and classroom.

We work as a team.

We follow the same behaviour system as the rest of the school, with an emphasis on praising positive learning behaviour.  We also have a class learning ladder, where good teamwork and behaviour across the class can earn us extra privileges and rewards.
Merit points are awarded for good learning and showing a growth mindset.

Organisation:
In Sedgemoor class we liked to be organised!
-         Children are expected to bring their PE kits to school on a Monday and they will be returned for washing on a Friday.
-         Books will be changed as necessary throughout the week, but we do expect children to have a book for at least 2 days to give them time to talk about it and comprehend it. Please would you sign the reading record every time you hear your child read (hopefully every day!). Books must be brought to and from school every day, preferably in a book bag to keep them in a good condition.

We will send a piece of Literacy and Numeracy homework out each week on a Thursday to be returned by Wednesday the following week. This term we are also focussing on the spelling of key words. We will send out a list and reward children at school for their effort to learn the spellings at home.
