Isle Class
Welcome to Isle’s Class Webpage!
Hello! I am Miss Bryant, the Year 4/5 class teacher and I am very happy to be working with Isle class for the next year.
Assisting me is Miss David, who works with us every morning until lunchtime for Literacy and Numeracy. We have extra support from Mrs Chalmers, who supports SEN and EAL children with their individual needs. Mrs Ramwell teaches us on a Tuesday afternoon and Madame Britt also comes into school on a Thursday to teach us French.
Our class rules
During the first week, Isle class came up with our class charter. These are rules that we will try to keeping help keep our classroom a safe and happy place to be.
We have a good attitude towards learning.
Be kind to everyone.
Have respect for each other and have good manners.
Look after the schools and other people’s property.
Always put your hand up patiently when you want to speak.
Homework
For Homework, the pupils are given weekly tasks for literacy and numeracy. This is based on work that the pupils have done during the week, and so consolidates their learning. They will also have weekly spellings and are encouraged to read at home as often as possible. Homework is given out on a Wednesday and handed in on a Monday.
Brainiac of the Week
In Isle, we also have a ‘Brainiac of the week’. This award is given to someone who has made an extra effort in class with their learning or behaviour and demonstrated a growth mindset. The children earn raffle tickets throughout the week and get put into the 'star box'. The winner is then chosen randomly out of the box on a Friday. If you win you will receive a certificate, sitting on a special chair, a space on the noticeboard, taking the register back each day and being at the front of a line. The winner also picks someone else who they think deserves the prize too!
School Councillors
Isle class voted for Sam and Madeleine to be our councillors this year. They will attend meetings to make special decisions about improving our school.
Thank you for visiting and reading the Isle Class Webpage!
